"I am an actor, not a stand-up comedian. It took me a long time to get the hang of comedy even when I did Comedy Circus with Kapil. I am so surprised that people think that I can do comedy by myself, but it is not so. It is so funny that I keep getting calls to do public shows. With Kapil, our chemistry is so brilliant, that we've just clicked together and now people love us together. Not many people know that Kapil had initially done a mock shoot with some other actress for Comedy Nights With Kapil. But when Kapil saw the shoot, he was like 'Please mujhe meri Sumona laa do'. After this show, people actually think I am married to Kapil. Wherever I go, I am addressed as Kapil ki biwi."

Sumona Chakravarti is an Indian actress known for her role of Natasha Kapoor in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. She is the winner of Kahani Comedy Circus Ki, a comedy show on Sony Entertainment Television, along with her partner Kapil Sharma.

She has done her schooling from Loreto Convent, Lucknow and graduation from Jai Hind College, Mumbai. Her theatrical debut came in an English musical play opera, "Da Dating Truths" in 2009. She has also worked in many ad films.

She has worked in Kab Kyon Kaise on DD National, How's That! on DD National, Kasamh Se on Zee TV, Sun Yaar Chill Maar on Bindaas, Kasturi on Star Plus, Detective Doll on SAB TV, Devi on NDTV Imagine, Horror Nights on STAR One, Sapnon Se Bhare Naina on Star Plus, Khotey Sikkey on Sony Entertainment Television.

Currently, Sumona is playing the role of Natasha Kapoor, a rich brat sister of the character played by Ram Kapoor in popular TV serial Bade Achhe Lagte Hain on Sony TV. After the serial's 5 year leap, her character Natasha Kapoor sees transformation into a caring, emotional and obedient daughter-in-law of the Sharma household. She also loves Priya Kapoor (played by Sakshi Tanwar) and holds her responsible for bringing this change within her. Simultaneously, she was also doing stand-up comedy partnering Kapil Sharma in Kahani Comedy Circus Ki on Sony TV and has won the show with him.

Film Career

She started her career by working in the movies Mann (1998) and Vidyarthi (1999). She played the role of Manasi in the film Aakhari Decision (2010). She played a cameo in Barfi! (2012) starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
